The Additional Secretary to Home Department, N Prusty, in a letter to the Secretary of OPSC, has requested to lead the enrollment to the post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) of the Odisha Secretariat for the year 2021.
There was a meeting was hung on October 21 under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary and guided the Commission to start the course of enrollment of ASOs, according to the commission’s timetable- Prusty stated.
The letter additionally expressed that the concerned order and draft ad have been disdain according to the system. Following that, the concerned authorities have been mentioned to make the necessary strides and lead the enlistment assessment for topping off the gigantic number of ASO empty posts in various divisions of the Odisha Secretariat.

As of late, the Odisha Secretariat Service Association (OSSA) had written to State Chief Secretary mentioning to depend OPSC with the lead the enlistment for the post of ASOs.

The VP of the affiliation brought up that the new correspondence of the OPSC to the Home Department on the enrollment of ASOs has unsettled numerous applicants across the State.

The letter read, “The work profile of an ASO is very significant as it fills in as the foundation of managerial work and gives long-lasting administration and functionary staff at the State Secretariat level. In the last three enlistments to the post of ASO led through OPSC, exceptionally qualified applicants having abilities in flexible fields have been chosen and drafted into the unit.”

Further in his letter, OSSA VP expressed that OPSC should keep leading the enlistment assessment for the post of ASO. It would be better if the enlistment of ASOs be directed with Odisha Civil Services led by the OPSC, which will save assets of the public authority and reinforce the State Administration, he added.
